How do mobile LED screen handle challenging weather conditions?
To ensure that mobile LED screens guarantee a successful event, they must meet certain criteria. At Screen-LED, we ensure that our products are highly resistant to wind, waterproof, durable against extreme temperatures, and adaptable to difficult terrain. How do we achieve this?
Wind Resistance
A primary requirement for mobile LED screens that are elevated to greater heights is their wind resistance. Due to their large surface area, mobile displays can be exposed to strong gusts of wind, posing a risk to the stability of the entire trailer. That’s why each of our mobile trailers equipped with LED screens features a wind sensor with an alarm that activates when wind speeds exceed 15 m/s (54 km/h). In such a case, the operator should immediately lower the screen’s height.
It’s important to note that according to German TÜV Prüfbuch requirements, using LED screens elevated above 5 metres requires additional safety certification. Upon request, we can adjust the wind sensors to meet local regulations.
Waterproof Mobile LED Screens
During outdoor events, the weather can be unpredictable. That’s why our mobile LED trailers are fully resistant to rain and moisture. For instance, the MobiLED and ContainerLED (45 m²) models are equipped with dedicated control rooms for operators, ensuring full protection of both the equipment and personnel. In the case of the PlatformLED model, technical equipment is stored in a waterproof compartment, protecting it from adverse weather conditions.
Additionally, our trailers with LED screens are equipped with anti-slip flooring made of steel tread plates, making them a safe workspace for operators and technicians handling the event.
Temperature Resistance
Mobile LED screen operate based on a hydraulic system, where resistance to a wide range of temperatures is a crucial aspect. This is particularly important in extreme conditions, such as during winter events. The system is designed using components resistant to harsh conditions. Moreover, the hydraulic resistance is enhanced by the use of appropriate hydraulic oil.
Importantly, the operation of the screen itself is not dependent on the outside temperature. The screen will perform well in all conditions – from sunshine and rain to snow. Additionally, the vehicle can be adapted for terrain-specific driving conditions by changing tyres to either summer or winter variants, depending on the weather.
Terrain Adaptation and mobile LED screen
Our mobile LED screens are used in various parts of the world, which means they operate in different geographical areas with varying terrain profiles. Clients often commission us for projects in diverse locations, making it a priority for us to adapt our products to changing conditions.
The PlatformLED trailer features a higher rear section, which facilitates access in challenging terrains. Our designers pay particular attention to the materials used in the trailer’s chassis and body. The chassis is protected against corrosion – hot-dip galvanised to prevent issues, especially in winter when roads are treated with salt. Meanwhile, the MobiLED’s body is constructed from a lightweight yet highly durable sandwich-type material, which protects the screen during transport and storage. The PlatformLED’s bodywork, on the other hand, is made from corrosion-resistant aluminium.
Our LED trailers are designed to cope with a variety of challenging weather conditions. Thanks to modern technology and materials, they can provide reliability and safety during any event, regardless of the weather conditions.
